About The Role

We are a dynamic design and build company with a 200+ year history, operating within a high-volume process industry. With a reputation for innovation and delivering high-quality solutions, we are enhancing our engineering systems with a Engineering Systems Manager to ensure seamless integration, security, and compliance. You will lead the implementation and maintenance of our engineering LOB software, ensuring optimal performance and regulatory adherence.

You will report directly to the Head of IT.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Oversee the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of engineering enterprise and line of business software to support business operations.
  • Ownership of engineering software.
  • Ensure that all engineering applications are stable, secure, and updated in line with best practices.
  • Monitor software usage and ensure compliance with licensing agreements, avoiding violations and optimizing for value.
  • Ensure seamless integration between various engineering tools and other enterprise systems.
  • Collaborate with software vendors to manage licenses, renewals, updates, and support agreements.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for software usage, standardization, and governance.
  • Provide end user support for technical issues, working with internal teams and vendors to diagnose and fix software-related issues.
  • Partner with IT, Engineering, and leadership teams to align software capabilities with business needs.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in engineering, IT and wider business projects or initiatives. 
  •  Ownership of change requests to align with ITIL best practices. 

About You

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a similar role of managing and\or hands-on experience in engineering software systems.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering design and analysis software, with a focus on Autodesk and Bentley Systems products.
  • Familiarity with enterprise software management, license tracking tools, and IT security best practices.
  • Experience with cloud-based engineering solutions and integrations is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve software-related issues.
  • Ability to monitor compliance, licensing, and security risks effectively. 
  • Experience managing software implementation or upgrade projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with vendors, engineers, and IT professionals.
