As a Sub Agent, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for managing multiple work packages, coordinating civil engineering activities with mechanical and electrical disciplines, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental requirements. The role requires strong leadership, commercial awareness and technical expertise, with responsibility for programme performance, subcontractor management, NEC contract administration and stakeholder engagement.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civil engineering professional who enjoys taking ownership, developing teams and making a tangible impact on complex infrastructure projects that improve essential water services for local communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality civil engineering works.
  • Lead site teams and subcontractors.
  • Manage programme, cost and quality performance.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary construction activities.
  • Administer NEC contractual processes.
  • Manage project risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Support successful project delivery from start to finish

About You

We are looking for a motivated and collaborative civil engineering professional with substantial experience delivering infrastructure, utilities or water sector projects. You will have a strong technical foundation, experience managing construction programmes and commercial elements of projects, and the confidence to lead teams and engage with clients and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional safety leadership, strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to project delivery. You will be comfortable managing subcontractors, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and balancing the demands of programme, cost, quality and safety.

You should hold relevant industry qualifications, including SMSTS and an appropriate CSCS/EUSR card, with HNC/HND or degree-level education in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Experience working under NEC contracts and within a regulated infrastructure environment would be advantageous. Above all, you will be a driven individual who leads by example, embraces continuous improvement and is committed to developing both people and projects to achieve outstanding results.
