About The Role

Due to our increased workload, we are looking to strengthen our Supplier Approval team by hiring a Supplier Approval Co-ordinator, based at our Manchester Office (Hattersley), with hybrid working available. Reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, you will provide supplier approval expertise in line with company and client policies & procedures.

Job Summary:

The Supplier Approval Coordinator plays a vital role in the supplier onboarding and approval process of our 2k strong supply base. This position ensures that our supplier documentation is collected, reviewed, and maintained in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The coordinator works closely with internal teams and external suppliers to facilitate timely and accurate approvals, contributing to a compliant and efficient supply chain supporting safe delivery of projects throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the supplier approval process, including document collection, verification, and data entry.
  • Support the develop and maintain supplier approval policies, procedures, and documentation in line with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in supplier management systems.
  • Communicate with suppliers to request and follow up on required documentation.
  • Collaborate with regional supply chain managers, procurement teams, and quality assurance to ensure alignment on supplier requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and due diligence on new and existing suppliers providing timely updates to our project teams.
  • Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues related to non-compliance or risk.
  • Escalate issues or delays in the approval process to the Procurement Manager.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards related to supplier approval metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on supplier approval processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline the approval process.
  • Supporting the business in delivering our sustainability objectives with our supply partners.

About You

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of supplier qualification, compliance, and risk management.
  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or administrative coordination.
  • Proficiency in supply chain software and ERP system management.
  • Proven track record of Microsoft suite of products.
  • Excellent customer service, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Confident in communicating, influencing and building relationships with cross-functional colleagues, suppliers and business stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Recognised Health and Safety Qualification eg, IOSH
  • Recognised Auditing Qualification (Alignment with ISO management system standards)
  • Knowledge of ISO standards, ESG compliance (Environment Social and Governance), and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., utilities, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, food).
