About The Role

We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Construction Manager based at our Anglian Water Region. 

You will report directly to the Operations Director and your role will cover working within Water and Water Recycling Non- Infrastructure to manage the Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability with responsibility for CDM for managing compliance for all delivered construction work. Whilst being primarily focussed on managing construction delivery, you’ll always adopt a wider pan-Alliance view, modelling appropriate Alliancing behaviours and leadership skills within integrated teams.

As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for leading construction delivery across major infrastructure schemes. You will ensure buildability is considered from the outset, optimise delivery through planning and innovation, and manage teams to safely and efficiently deliver high-quality outcomes.

  • Lead construction activities across large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with programme strategy and delivery milestones.

  • Drive safe, efficient, and high-quality construction methods, including offsite and industrialised construction techniques.

  • Collaborate with design, procurement, and delivery teams to ensure constructability and reduce time on site.

  • Develop construction phase plans, manage on-site risks, and oversee all aspects of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

  • Monitor construction performance, costs, and commercial progress, working closely with planners and cost managers to forecast and report.

  • Facilitate project rehearsals and activity planning to optimise sequencing and identify constraints ahead of time.

  • Support commissioning and seamless asset handover to Anglian Water Operations.

  • Lead, develop, and manage construction teams, ensuring performance is aligned to project goals and Alliance behaviours.

  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement by incorporating new construction techniques and standardised approaches where appropriate.

 

About You

About You

You’ll be an experienced and confident construction professional with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex infrastructure projects from planning to handover.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in delivering large-scale construction projects (£20m+), ideally in the water or utilities sectors.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders and drive performance.

  • Deep understanding of construction methods, buildability, and delivery assurance.

  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards, with a commitment to safe site practices.

  • Commercial awareness, including cost management, risk mitigation, and change control processes.

  • Experience with digital project tools and planning systems.
