About The Role

MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen our Engineering group with an Engineering Portfolio Lead or our Anglian water, @One Alliance region. Based in the Peterborough,

As our new Engineering Portfolio Lead , you will lead the engineering team responsible for delivering a diverse programme of capital investment projects, including critical infrastructure like Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) and Sustainable Urban Drainage (SUDs), as well as enhancements to Sewerage Treatment Works.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Develop the Engineering Team: Plan and allocate resources effectively, recruit and develop talent, and ensure the team delivers high-quality engineering outputs.

  • Drive Innovation and Sustainability: Embrace new digital technologies and develop sustainable solutions to reduce carbon and protect natural capital, aligning with PAS 2080 principles.

  • Ensure Safety and Compliance: Fulfil the role of CDM Principal Designer, championing a strong health, safety, and welfare culture within the team.

  • Collaborate and Influence: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, driving collaboration to achieve project goals.

  • Deliver Excellence: Instil a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

 

Design and Planning 
  • Develop the engineering resource strategy for the Water Recycling East Programme; plan and allocate resources on a best for task basis.   
  • Identify competency and capacity gaps and undertake the recruitment of staff, including developing the use of global resources.
  • Lead your team to collaborate with and support the Solutions (optioneering) Team, including taking responsibility for the design aspects for optioneering and the single solution.
  • Provide leadership for the use of Engineering Project Plans and supporting project collaborative planning.
Delivery of Design 
  • Lead the design delivery for the Water Recycling East Programme.
  • Maintain a consistent quality of engineering output and ensure that all design is delivered on a right first-time philosophy, to the correct standards and specifications. 
  • Lead your team to produce design deliverables that are suitable for the end-users, with consideration of health & safety, the environment, construction, procurement, the customer, and Anglian Water operations.
  • Drive efficient ways of working, including the development and use of standard products.  
  • Instil a strong culture of measuring, monitoring and reporting design performance and risk management, to achieve quality, time and cost requirements
 

About You

Skills/Experience

To join our team, you’ll need a degree in Engineering, preferably with Chartered Engineer status, experience in water recycling non-infrastructure and substantial experience in leading multi-disciplinary design teams on complex capital projects.
  • Engineering degree.
  •  Preferably a chartered Engineer.
  • Experience of designing water recycling (sewage) capital projects within a design & build collaborative environment.
  • Leading and managing people and teams.
  • Managing designer’s responsibilities under CDM.
