About The Role

We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a General Foreman Site based at  Knapp Mill - Christchurch. 

You will report directly to the Site manager and your role will support the Site Manager to coordinate the safe management of a section of work on major projects or control all site activities on a smaller project ensuring HSQE, programme and budget requirements are set

Key responsibilities will include:

  • In conjunction with the Site Manager, co-ordinate and control initial site set-up, actively installing framework systems and procedures
  • Rigorously apply and enforce methods and controls to ensure the most effective and continuous use of the frameworks resources.
  • In conjunction with the Site Manager, appraise the security risk to all property under your control and install security levels commensurate to the relative values.
  • Actively support the Site Manager to maintain and enforce safety standards as required by statute and in accordance with our safety policies
  • Work to method statements and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance to all HS&E policies and procedures

About You

Key Requirements: 
  • ONC or HNC in a construction discipline an advantage
  • SMSTS
  • First Aid
  • Preferably confine space trained
  • Experience within the water treatment industry (Clean Non-Infrastructure)
  • Undertake the role of the site safety supervisor for a part of site allocated under your control. Actively maintain and enforce safety standards as required by statute and in accordance with MWH Safety Policies/Procedures.
  • Ensure the MWH Construction Phase H&S Plan and Environmental Management Plans are fully implemented for the area until your control.
  • Ensure that all site statutory inspections are carried out and recorded on a daily/weekly basis as is specified in the procedures for area under your control.
  • Assist in the preparation of construction programmes, preparation of Method Statements, Action Plans and Risk Assessments
  • Ensure good, honest and open lines of communication are maintained with works operatives.
  • Install and apply appropriate security levels commensurate to the relative values in agreement with the Site Manager.
  • Assist the Site manager in producing data as required to facilitate accurate reporting for inclusion in Management Reports as requested by the site/project manager. This includes (but is not limited to) monthly SHEQ reports, Improve It reports, NCO reports, accident reports and waste returns.
  • Contribute to the Company’s reputation by maintaining good working relationships with the client’s on-site staff ensuring the smooth running of the Contract and the development of future relationships.
