About The Role

 

We are looking to strengthen our Commissioning team with an Apprentice Commissioning Engineer based at various sites around Surrey with day release to Cherith Simmons Learning & Development Ltd (Virtually).

You will report directly to the Commissioning Manager and you will gain experience and training from a highly experienced EICA, process and civil team working on projects within the Water & Wastewater Treatment Industry. Throughout the programme you will have the opportunity to work on all stages of the projects.

To continue with our growth plans for 2024 and beyond we are searching for a potential Apprentice Commissioning Engineer to join our apprenticeship scheme. We have an opportunity working alongside multi-discipline engineering site teams at a multitude of client sites throughout the Thames region (largely around Guildford).

About You

Qualifications required to apply:

  • GCSEs for English, Mathematics and Sciences at grade 4 or above.
  • Candidates must hold a valid driving licence. 
  • Candidates must be aged 18 and above.

Flexibility – The role is essentially site based and whilst there may be periods when attendance at an office, (Either MWH or a Clients), the need to commute anywhere within the Severn Trent region on a daily basis or on occasion lodge locally to a place of work is a requirement of the role.

Strong communication skills – both written and verbal are essential, and you must be able to work well within a team and independently.

Strong work ethic  - self – motivated, flexible and reliable with good problem-solving skills. You will also have a strong client service focus and excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task.

Excellent computer skills -  a good understanding of Microsoft Office are essential.

Curiosity -  a natural curiosity regarding how things work, is desirable characteristic common to all commissioning engineers

Apprenticeship 

The course will be approximately 2 – 2.5 years of study and commitment.

The commissioning apprentice pathway will take ~5 years and will end with the apprentice becoming an assistant commissioning engineer.

About the course:

You will be studying a Level 3 Water Treatment Technician Course through Cherith Simmons Learning & Development Ltd.
