About The Role

MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen their delivery team with a Senior Project Engineer for our Southern Water framework on the Burham site. Based on site you will assist the Project Manager in managing the design, construction, commissioning and “close out” of projects, ensuring that they are completed in the most effective and efficient manner, without compromising health and safety and  the environment whilst maintaining customer satisfaction.
 
Burham WTW is a flagship site for the CMDP framework. You will be managing a major investment project that is highly complex with exciting challenges to overcome. This high profile project has longevity through AMP 8 and we are looking for a Senior Project Engineer - Mechanical who is capable of handling this type of clean water project.

You will report directly to the Project Manager and the responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with the Project Management strategy

  • Assist in the production of the contract programme; monitor programme and produce progress reports

  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers

  • Liaise with site management on design and procurement issues

  • Assist in the preparation of the construction completion and take over documentation

  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality

  • Technical co-ordination between MWH engineering and supply chain partners

  • Challenge all stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation, doing something differently and improving working practises to realise opportunities and minimise risk – both to safety and commercial performance;

  • Work closely with Project Quantity Surveyor to generate cost plans, input commitments and monitor project out-turn costs, reporting to the PM any variations and assist in preparation of mitigation plans


About You

  • Project Engineering experience

  • Experience of delivering utilising NEC3 form of contract

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction related discipline.

  • Preferably APMP or equivalent

  • Previous experience within water treatment (Non-Infrastructure)

  • Previously mechanical project engineering background preferred
