MWH Treatment is looking to appoint an experienced Senior CAD Technician (Civil) to join our growing Engineering team. Based at a suitable location within our Northern Region, with flexible working available, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering some of the UK's most important water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
As a senior member of the design team, you will take ownership of the coordination, management and quality of drawing production across multidisciplinary engineering projects. Working alongside Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Process Engineers, you'll ensure design outputs are delivered efficiently, accurately and in line with the highest technical standards.
This role is ideal for a technically strong CAD professional who enjoys taking the lead, driving best practice, mentoring others and helping to develop digital engineering capabilities within a collaborative and forward-thinking business.
The Role
Reporting to the Regional Discipline Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating drawing production, managing workloads and ensuring that all design outputs support safe, buildable and cost-effective project delivery.
You will act as a key link between engineering disciplines, offshore design resources and project delivery teams, helping to maintain quality, consistency and efficiency throughout the design lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the coordination, management and delivery of high-quality civil engineering drawings and models.
- Manage CAD workloads and prioritise resources to meet project programmes and delivery objectives.
- Champion digital engineering and support the continued adoption of best practice across MWH Treatment.
- Coordinate and manage drawing production undertaken by offshore design teams.
- Ensure designs are developed in accordance with CDM Regulations and relevant industry standards.
- Coordinate design information across Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Process engineering disciplines.
- Support the resolution of technical queries and design clashes throughout project development.
- Ensure all drawings and models are produced in line with company standards, QA procedures and project requirements.
- Work closely with construction teams and supply chain partners to develop practical, buildable and efficient design solutions.
- Support the development and implementation of BIM and digital delivery processes.
- Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Mentor and support junior CAD technicians and designers where required.
